Role Overview

The position centres on delivering middle office and trade support functions for the Africa Trading Desk, encompassing broader duties related to Money Markets and Interest Rate Derivatives. The incumbent will assist Global Markets clients alongside Sales and Trading divisions by overseeing the complete operational lifecycle of transactions. Key tasks involve checking, enriching, and allocating trades, troubleshooting exceptions, handling inquiries, and executing ongoing enhancements to guarantee seamless settlement, adherence to regulatory mandates, risk mitigation, and optimal client experiences. Operational coverage for the Africa Trading Desk may extend to South African public holidays when necessary.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must hold a minimum of a first degree focusing on Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting, or Mathematical Sciences. Candidates are required to bring three to five years of specialized background in trade support operations, paired with advanced familiarity handling global markets trade lifecycles across diverse instruments including interest rate swaps, structured notes, bonds, options, loans, deposits, non-deliverable forwards, and various foreign exchange products. Furthermore, individuals need strong capabilities in self-management, cross-functional coordination, comprehension of pricing and risk management frameworks affecting profit and loss, along with advanced technological proficiency in managing specialized systems and standard software applications.
