Position Overview
Sibanye-Stillwater is looking for a qualified professional to join the Rustenburg operations within the platinum division. The appointed individual will take responsibility for generating short, medium, and long-term extraction schedules that establish the operational framework for secure and financially efficient ore recovery. The mandate includes formulating stoping blueprints and development designs while ensuring adherence to organisational standards.
Core Duties
The successful candidate will generate specialised blueprints, spatial mappings, and extraction configurations aligned with established frameworks to facilitate operational targets. Key tasks involve maintaining robust data systems, monitoring statistics, and conducting reconciliation processes. Responsibilities extend to examining operational data to elevate compliance levels, pinpoint variances, and address metal accounting matters. The role requires staying current with technological advancements through industry networking and meetings. Furthermore, the incumbent will cultivate strategic relationships across all organisational tiers, manage financial expenditure against allocated budgets, promote adherence to environmental, social, and governance standards, and enforce workplace health and safety protocols. Additional duties encompass supervising team performance, mentoring personnel, and verifying quality management documentation.
Background and Competencies
Applicants must hold a Level 6 qualification, which includes a diploma or advanced certificate in manufacturing, engineering, and technology. Alternatively, candidates may present a Chamber of Mines Advanced Survey qualification, a Chamber of Mines Advanced Evaluation credential, or a mining-related certification such as a Shift Boss Certificate of Competency. At least three years of pertinent background within a similar function is mandatory. Additional prerequisites involve holding a valid driver’s licence where applicable, maintaining an unblemished credit history, passing security clearance screenings, and possessing the physical fitness required for the specific operational zone.
