Position Overview

Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking a dedicated professional for the Mine Planner Grade 2 position located at the Operating Segment Platinum in Rustenburg under reference KND 0072990. The primary purpose of this role is to handle electronic mine design and scheduling duties while strictly adhering to all legal mandates and internal policies. The incumbent will coordinate task priorities, gather essential technical data, and execute efficient operational planning.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will champion environmental, social, and governance standards by supporting global responsible mining frameworks and contributing to regional sustainability efforts. Responsibilities include maintaining rigorous health and safety standards, engaging in safety risk evaluations, attending designated safety gatherings, and upholding protective equipment guidelines to drive zero-harm objectives.

Operational duties involve delivering technical contributions toward strategic planning and active operations, generating baseline scenarios, producing feasibility trade-off evaluations, and formulating annual budget frameworks alongside long-term production schedules. The incumbent will recognize operational impediments, run quarterly risk evaluations, promote expense reduction methods, and apply structured problem-solving methodologies.

Additional duties cover administrative accuracy within planning software, validation of technical information, drafting digital terrain models, building compliant layout designs, managing capital and working cost budgets, and cultivating effective relationships across internal and external stakeholder groups.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must possess a standard school completion certificate, alongside a Chamber of Mines Advanced Survey qualification, a Chamber of Mines Advanced Evaluation credential, or another relevant mining certification such as a Shift Boss Certificate of Competency. A minimum of three years of relevant working background is mandatory. Candidates are required to maintain medical fitness for the designated work zone, present a clean security screening outcome, and hold a valid driver’s licence where applicable.
