Shift Supervisor Production UG – Sibanye-Stillwater
Job Description
Job Purpose
To supervise the Mining teams and processes to achieve operational objectives in a safe and efficient manner and in line with legislative requirements. This is a legal appointment in terms of the Minerals Act and Regulations 2.15.1.
Minimum Qualifications
- DMR Blasting Certificate (post 1 June 2017) or DMR recognised Mining Operations Level 2 (MQA) and Rock Breaker Level 3 (MQA).
- National Certificate Supervisor Operations (QCTO)
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years mining experience at the level of a Miner (Graduates with 6 months mining experience and 3 months Supervisory experience)
- Medically fit to work in the specific business area
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
- Clear security screening record.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Mine Overseer Certificate
Key Responsibilities
- Legal, operational and standard compliance.
- Inspection of ground conditions and face preparation.
- Inspection of temporary and permanent support installations.
- Inspection of machinery, equipment and safety devices.
- Inspection of barricades, hazardous areas and abandoned workings.
- Perform early and late shift examinations.
- Monitoring environmental conditions, testing for flammable and harmful gases.
- Assessment and monitoring the performance of production teams.
- Investigating incidents/accidents and property damage.
- Stoping Administration and area production management.
- Section Production support and building a values-based organisational culture.
- ESG, SHE Compliance and People Management.
