Standard Bank Group seeks an experienced financial professional to direct and translate financial strategy for designated business units. The appointee will offer overarching vision, strategic oversight, and leadership to the financial management division, guaranteeing comprehensive financial administration and support.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assume full ownership for executing financial frameworks and strategies across assigned operations. Duties include directing the financial management team, ensuring the seamless execution of complete financial services, interpreting financial figures, and generating detailed projections, statements, and reports.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree centered on Finance, with an Accounting Honours qualification considered advantageous. A Chartered Accountant designation (CA(SA)) is also preferred. Candidates need between eight and fifteen years of post-articles or post-honours practical background encompassing financial accounting, alongside exposure to finance and technology within managerial or financial accounting capacities. Essential attributes include advanced proficiency regarding budgeting, cost control principles, financial regulations, and accounting practices, coupled with superior report composition abilities and familiarity with computerized reporting frameworks. Candidates should demonstrate a strong aptitude for analyzing financial information, excellent relationship management skills, banking sector exposure, and computer literacy emphasizing Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with the Finance and Value Management landscape is advantageous. Behavioural strengths must involve conflict resolution, composure, teamwork, empowerment, self-assurance, practical problem-solving, and idea generation. Technical competencies require expertise in financial acumen, analysis, management, tax administration, transfer pricing, forecasting, planning, and statement interpretation.
