The selected professional will take complete charge of culinary functions, directing everything from recipe creation and meal assembly to personnel administration. This role demands exceptional creativity, authoritative guidance, and specialized knowledge to guarantee seamless kitchen performance while upholding superior culinary standards, managing expenditures, and cultivating an encouraging workplace.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will evaluate personal effectiveness by seeking constructive input and requesting professional development when necessary. Leadership must ensure that personnel deliver remarkable service quality and culinary selections to bolster cross-functional teamwork and creativity. The role oversees the end-to-end execution of both kitchen and front-of-house retail functions to secure operational uniformity. Furthermore, the chef will build cooperative networks across the broader group, contribute to tactical planning, and formulate as well as execute practical operational frameworks.
Accountabilities include delivering accurate monthly reports regarding sales costs, margins, food expenses, sanitation benchmarks, patron involvement, worker engagement, and operational hurdles. The professional will direct menu creation, preserve precise costing for all sold items, and guarantee uniform food preparation that meets strict quality benchmarks. Finished goods must be inspected for visual appeal and quality before dispatch. The candidate will oversee receiving, storage, production, and presentation standards while actively engaging patrons to gather input regarding culinary quality and service delivery.
Additional duties involve creating attractive food displays, instructing kitchen and retail personnel on foundational culinary techniques and plate aesthetics, and continuously refining the dining experience. The chef will conduct research regarding culinary best practices and trends, directing daily operational workflows and adjusting schedules to align with budgetary targets. Collaboration with procurement is required to secure necessary inventory, while supervisory oversight ensures financial targets, client service levels, and operational demands are consistently satisfied.
The appointee must be capable of stepping into operational roles during staff absences or arranging suitable cover, motivating supervisors to surpass food preparation benchmarks, and fostering staff participation in culinary competitions to introduce innovative concepts. Management must model professional leadership, counsel employees, and enforce rigorous hygiene guidelines in line with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points requirements. Monitoring safe food handling temperatures, addressing third-party audit findings, enforcing safety protocols, ensuring proper personal protective equipment usage, and verifying that all equipment operates safely under the Occupational Health and Safety Act are essential daily functions.

A minimum of four to five years of relevant background in catering and hospitality is required, ideally within a middle management capacity focusing on corporate catering and events. Applicants must demonstrate extensive senior kitchen background within corporate settings, exceptional technical abilities, strong leadership capabilities, and comprehensive familiarity with kitchen administration, inventory tracking, and budgeting.
