Role Overview
Sibanye-Stillwater requires a qualified professional to direct the complete maintenance operations for mechanical systems, involving the adjustment and creation of specifications alongside calculations, whilst checking that all tasks align with established standards, regulations, and industry practices.
Key Accountability Areas
The appointed individual will direct efforts toward secure output and operational efficiency, working to enhance standing on global expense frameworks. Personnel duties involve mentoring and practical training for subordinates, tracking growth and output, distributing tasks equitably, and motivating workers toward exceptional achievement. Relationship-building activities encompass establishing cross-functional connections internally and externally, maintaining transparent dialogue, engaging and negotiating with contractors, interacting with environmental groups, and working alongside external partners to refine operational instruments.
Financial oversight requires establishing and sanctioning fiscal limits, authorizing operational spending, drafting monthly and yearly financial plans, tracking fiscal differences, and spearheading cash-preservation projects to sustain global cost competitiveness. The role requires championing a values-driven corporate environment, fulfilling environmental, social, and governance obligations, and adhering strictly to safety, health, and environmental frameworks by cultivating safety leadership, monitoring workplace adherence, and championing proactive safety measures.
Quality management responsibilities include authorizing internal files, upholding quality system standards, overseeing documentation, boosting process effectiveness, carrying out internal evaluations, and updating company guidelines. Administrative tasks involve reviewing shift logs, calculating material needs, confirming statutory examinations, managing project controls and estimates, analyzing technical drawings and reports, coordinating daily mechanical tasks, compiling regular status reports, attending gatherings, and handling inventory distribution.
Equipment and Risk Oversight
The supervisor will contribute to planned maintenance schedules, determine appropriate repair strategies, supervise maintenance workflows, offer mentorship, execute random checks, and direct breakdown resolutions. Furthermore, the position entails conducting task evaluations, managing baseline and issue-based risk assessments, handling workplace accident investigations, and implementing corrective actions for identified hazards.
