November 2, 2026

Job Description

Overview

The organisation seeks a technical professional to deliver engineering capabilities for the corporate and investment banking Front Arena system. This position demands an active practitioner capable of managing intricate software creation and technical troubleshooting throughout the complete delivery journey, ranging from initial business problem identification and architectural planning to construction, testing, deployment, and operational maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will build, refine, and maintain system solutions, including core scripts and validation components. Responsibilities involve building applications using specialized programming tools, application extension languages, financial calculation languages, trading services, data servers, and messaging brokers, alongside appropriate system interfaces. The appointee will investigate complicated operational difficulties affecting batch and process operations, conduct root-cause evaluations, and deploy permanent resolutions. Additional tasks involve participating in system migrations and platform updates, such as cloud transitions, while ensuring architecture remains efficient, sustainable, and compliant with established guidelines. Furthermore, the role requires converting business needs into resilient technical plans, providing architectural guidance for sophisticated enhancements, and evaluating whether to utilize standard features, parameters, scripts, integrations, or custom builds. The position entails reviewing technical architectures and code before live release, managing complex issues autonomously, collaborating with software providers when necessary, and utilizing version control and collaborative workflows.

Technical Leadership

Acting as a primary technical reference, the individual will uphold engineering benchmarks, guide less experienced colleagues, assist with severe incident analyses, and minimize reliance on individual specialists by enhancing system documentation. Cooperation with product, business, support, infrastructure, and data divisions is essential.

Requirements

Applicants must possess at least eight years of relevant engineering background, featuring five or more years of practical programming and scripting proficiency. An academic degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or an equivalent practical background is necessary. Candidates should bring experience maintaining system deployments within cloud environments like Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure, alongside advanced knowledge of application programming interfaces, extension languages, and calculation frameworks. Strong familiarity with core scripting, production troubleshooting, architectural planning, version control tools, and continuous integration pipelines is required. Background within global markets operations covering fixed income, foreign exchange, derivatives, or treasury assets is expected. Advantageous attributes include familiarity with data visualization tools, reporting, artificial intelligence automation assistants, and the Microsoft Power Platform.
